As part of Project 978, the Minerva Navis team carried out the installation of the ROV hangar door frames, the structural elements that support and secure the ROV hangar doors.
The scope of work included lifting, positioning, centering, and aligning the frames at approximately 22 meters above deck, in the wheelhouse area. Due to the size of the structure, restricted access, and installation height, the operation required meticulous planning, precise lifting procedures, and the use of two cranes, including a mobile crane brought specifically for this stage of the project.
Quality
The installation was performed with continuous dimensional control, strict compliance with the project documentation, and ongoing verification of alignment and positioning.
Weld preparation was carried out in accordance with the project specifications, while all welds were subjected to 100% non-destructive ultrasonic testing (UT) to ensure full compliance with the required quality standards.

Project Leadership
The project was led by mister Timuș Viorel, Shipbuilding Foreman with 38 years of experience in shipbuilding, including 1.5 years with Minerva Navis, together with mister Rednanov Daniel, Shipbuilding Foreman with 32 years of experience, including 2 years with Minerva Navis.
"This was a complex project. It required excellent teamwork, heightened attention, strict compliance with safety regulations, and on-time delivery."
Speaking about the most challenging part of the project, mister Timuș Viorel added:
"The biggest challenge wasn't the welding—it was the lifting. A large structure had to be positioned at a height of 22 meters, with limited access. We used two cranes, including a mobile crane brought in specifically for this operation. Thorough preparation was essential to eliminate any risks that could have affected the lifting process."
